The National Centre for Human Rights extends its heartfelt greetings to our Christian brethren in Jordan, conveying warm wishes for a joyous Christmas and a prosperous New Year. The Centre calls on God's mercy and benevolence to safeguard the safety and security of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

On this occasion, the Centre unequivocally asserts that the injustices endured by the people of the Gaza Strip have persisted for 75 years, constituting not only war crimes but also crimes against humanity. These egregious transgressions undermine the fundamental principles of peace, love, and human solidarity that are revered during these festive times. Furthermore, these acts of aggression infringe upon the rights of nations to relish safety, security, and stability, principles that are deeply embedded in the teachings of the Prophets, and perpetuate a sustained violation of human rights and flout established international standards.

In this context, the National Centre for Human Rights appreciates the principled stance taken by the Council of the Heads of Churches in Jordan, as reflected in their decision to forego conventional holiday greetings this year. Instead, they opt for a solemn observance of prayers in churches, symbolizing a strong condemnation of the ongoing transgressions that have tragically deprived children, women, and the entire population of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank from celebrating these joyous holidays. This gesture simultaneously pays homage to the lost lives of martyrs and expresses unwavering solidarity with the people enduring hardships in the region. The Centre reiterates its appreciation for the steadfast positions adopted by Jordan, emphasizing support for the residents of Gaza. It also commends the efforts led by His Majesty King Abdullah, aimed at achieving a complete cessation of the brutal war.
