The National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR), in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth, conducted a training workshop on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, in Um Al-Jimal, Mafraq Governorate, focusing on Jordan’s National Action Plan for Youth and the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security.
The workshop forms part of NCHR’s efforts to expand human rights awareness and reach young people in the governorates, strengthening their understanding of their rights and their role in political and community participation and peacebuilding, while increasing awareness of NCHR’s mandate in protecting and promoting human rights.
Opening the workshop, lawyer Nisreen Zureiqat, NCHR Commissioner for Promotion, stressed “the importance of the strategic and complementary partnership with the Ministry of Youth in raising awareness, protecting young people from extremist thought, and strengthening and activating their role in political and community participation.”
The workshop addressed youth rights and the protection, prevention, partnerships and participation pillars of Resolution 2250. It also included an awareness session on the Cybercrime Law and the safe and responsible use of social media and digital platforms.
Participants were also introduced to NCHR’s role and responsibilities, supporting more direct engagement with young people and greater awareness of the mechanisms available for the protection and promotion of human rights.
