The National Center for Human Rights (NCHR) held a meeting on Sunday, 19/4/2026, bringing together liaison officers from the Ministry of Transport and the Greater Amman Municipality to follow up on the implementation of the recommendations contained in the Center’s annual report related to reasonable accommodation for persons with disabilities, and to discuss the latest developments and mechanisms to enhance coordination among the relevant entities.
During the meeting, Dr. Nahla Al-Momani, Commissioner for Protection, stressed the importance of institutionalizing the process of following up on the Center’s recommendations with the concerned entities, as well as the importance of the Prime Minister’s circular mandating the follow-up of recommendations and the development of the necessary action plans and timelines. She also emphasized the cooperation of all relevant entities in implementing the Center’s recommendations.
The meeting concluded with a number of key outcomes, most notably the development of an executive action plan for the Center’s recommendations, the initiation of a memorandum of understanding between the Center and the Greater Amman Municipality, the holding of regular consultative sessions, and the provision of quarterly progress reports to the Center on the implementation of the recommendations.
It is worth noting that these meetings are part of a partnership and dialogue approach with official entities, contributing to the strengthening of human rights protection and the promotion of transparency and accountability principles.
