Amman – The joint coordination committee between the National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) and the Senate Committee on Freedoms and Citizens’ Rights convened to discuss ways to institutionalize cooperation and strengthen coordination on issues of shared interest in the field of human rights.
The meeting addressed practical approaches to developing more structured institutional coordination, including regular dialogue, exchange of expertise and information, and effective follow-up on priority human rights issues, with the aim of strengthening complementarity among national institutions working to promote and protect human rights.
The two sides also discussed establishing a working mechanism for the joint coordination committee’s meetings to ensure continuity, identify priority areas for discussion, and follow up on agreed actions through a clear and organized framework.
Both sides stressed the importance of building on existing cooperation and developing it into a more regular and effective partnership that supports institutional dialogue on shared human rights priorities and contributes to stronger national responses to emerging and ongoing human rights challenges.
The meeting reflects NCHR’s continued efforts to broaden cooperation and consultation with national institutions and to strengthen channels that translate human rights dialogue into sustained coordination and practical follow-up.
