Governance Committee Meeting of the Asia Pacific Forum
The Governance Committee of the Asia Pacific Forum (APF) held a meeting on Sunday, March 8, 2025, in Geneva, chaired by Ms. Samar Al-Hajj Hassan, President of the Forum, to discuss various topics related to the work of the national institutions that are members of the Forum. The meeting included discussions on the draft work plan and budget for 2025 and 2026, in addition to other issues concerning national human rights institutions, including the accreditation of new members, reviewing membership applications, and electing representatives to the Forum’s committees and the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI).
This meeting is part of the National Centre for Human Rights’ participation in the 38th Annual General Meeting of GANHRI, which will be held in Geneva from March 10 to 12, 2025.
It is worth noting that the Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (APF) was established in 1996 and serves as a regional network that brings together national human rights institutions in the Asia-Pacific region. The Forum currently has 27 member countries and primarily aims to support and enhance the efforts of national institutions in protecting and promoting human rights within their respective countries.
