Amman – The National Centre for Human Rights participated in the Global Action Week for Education 2026, held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with broad participation from governmental and international entities, as well as civil society organizations, with the aim of promoting the right to quality, equitable, and inclusive education for all.
The Commissioner General of the Center delivered a speech in which he affirmed that inclusive education constitutes a cornerstone in building just and cohesive societies, as it provides equal learning opportunities for all individuals without discrimination. He noted that this approach goes beyond merely integrating students into the classroom, extending to the development of flexible education systems that respond to the needs of all and embrace diversity as an added value.
In this context, the Commissioner General emphasized the pivotal role played by national human rights institutions, foremost among them the Center, in monitoring educational policies and assessing their alignment with international human rights standards, as well as advocating for the adoption of inclusive educational practices. He reaffirmed the Center’s continued efforts in conducting field monitoring visits to schools across the Kingdom.
He also highlighted the significant attention given by His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein to inclusive education, referring to the Global Disability Summit 2025 (Amman–Berlin), held under His Majesty’s leadership, and the resulting international commitments to enhance the inclusion of persons with disabilities in development programs and allocate the necessary resources to achieve this goal.
The Center’s participation in these activities reflects its ongoing commitment to promoting and protecting the right to education, and to supporting national efforts aimed at building an inclusive education system that respects the rights of all without exception.
